Dombri is bowls in English. Japanese traditional Dombri have usually covers. A bento box also has a cover. It is for keeping food warm, preventing from the dirt, and making you excited when you open it! Usually we do not eat plain steam rice with Domburi as it is larger than rice bowls but we tease friends who eat a lot like 'Shall we serve your rice in Domburi?'
There are a lot of popular menu in Japanese food and Domburi menu are very popular, too. Katsu-Don(Pork cutlet and egg on rice bowl), Chicken-Katsu-Don(Chicken cutlet and egg on rice bowl), Oyako-Don(Chicken and egg on rice bowl), Ten-Don(Tempura on rice bowl), Tekka-Don (Fresh tuna on sushi rice bowl) and etc. This 'Don' comes from 'Domburi' therefore we serve in Domburi bowls. However, we have no containers for delivery so that we deliver Don in the boxes.
