Japanese soul food おにぎり

These are O-Nigiri (O-musubi) - Rice balls.  If my friends ask me about Japanese food, I will say Onigiri is Japanese soul food.   The recipe is very simple,  just make balls with rice and wrap with slight amount of salt and Nori - black sea plants.   Some may say it is too simple and no taste!   However, Japanese will enjoy the taste of rice and it maybe the best way to enjoy rice itself by this simple food.
One day a guest from Japan had a stomachache during her stay in Sri Lanka and she could eat only Onigiri and Miso soup as there is no fat, oil but carbohydrate made her energy, and I think our soul food healed her exhausted body and soul.  What is your soul food?
