Tasty local food 最近のはやりもの

This is not Japanese food but one of our favorite Sri Lankan food 'Egg Hopper'!  These days, we eat and enjoy them with beer.   We can not make it and we always take away at the shop called 'Hotel'.  I was surprised at their question when I visited the hotel.   " Would you like to have half baked or full baked?"   Usually it tends to cook well in Sri Lanka but they asked me half baked!?   Of course I asked half baked one.   I knew half baked means sunny side up and full baked means scrambled.  The chilli paste side it is so tasty!

またまた、カフェジャパンの話題ではありませんが、スリランカの話題です。
最近、夜のお供で私たちの間ではやっているスリランカのローカルフードです。エッグホッパーと言います。米粉をクレープのように専用の鍋で焼き、その上に卵を乗せています。自分たちでは作れないので、いつもお店で買ってきています。先日、お店に行ったら、「半熟がいいか？固めがいいか？」と聞かれました。スリランカでは、何でもよく火を通すので、半熟があるんだとびっくりしましたが、半熟は上の写真のように目玉焼き状態で、固めは黄身をつぶしてよく火を通すようです。いつもチリペーストをつけて、ハーハーヒーヒー言って食べています。良いビールのお供です。
