Today I would like to introduce one of Japanese food TOKOROTEN. There is a lot of healthy food in Japan though it would be one of them. It is made from sea plants (the left on the picture) and contains 98-99% just water and no calories but food fibers. We add fish flakes, sesames, sea plants (green laver), soysauce and vinegar. This is the seasonal food in Japan and it has been made for 1300 years. When we have no appetite for the heat in summer, TOKOROTEN slakes our thirst, makes feel cool and sour taste stimulates the appetite. We can enjoy it through a year in the tropical island, Sri Lanka.
