We thank you very much for your patronage. According to the price escalation in the country, we have to revise the prices of menu. The menu will be revised from 15 May 2011. We would appreciate your kind understanding and we try to improve our service and foods as well. We are very sorry and hope your kind understanding and continuous order.

If you could send your empty mail subject name 'menu', we would like to send new price list to you.

新しいメニューを、Emailにて送付致します。ご希望のお客様は、件名にメニューと書いて、空メールをお送りください。メニューと一緒に返信させて頂きます。

Variety of Bento いろいろなお弁当

O-BENTO in Japanese is portable food in the box. When we go hiking, school, office and etc,
we bring it from home and enjoy it at lunch time. When I was a child, my mother made Obento and looked forward to having it. Even adults, very busy business persons order Obento to save their time from going out for lunch.
These are special Bento and not regular bento menu. We make these bento with your order in advance.

If you prefer Karaage Chicken(Fried Chieken) , we can prepare the Bento with Karaage chicken
instead of Teriyaki Chicken.

（フルーツ別添え）　　　　　（With some fruits)

Onigiri (Rice ball) is a typical Japanese portable lunch. Japanese rice does not waste the taste even after it lost warmth.

I think I can eat 3 Okosama bento alone. lol

A letter from COMO! コモからの手紙

Last summer, Grazia from Como in Italy visited us. She has traveled in Sri Lanka and the last day of her stay in Sri Lanka she visited Cafe Japan. We were so happy she visited our restaurant in her last day though it was very difficult to find our place and to hear she liked our food and enjoyed food and Cafe Japan. She offered to open Cafe Japan in Como! If we could, it would be lovely. I know it is a beautiful place and food must be tasty, too! Thanks for the note, Grazia. If you can, could you write some about Cafe Japan in Italian? I think it will be nice if anyone could write about Cafe Japan in your languages, English, Russian, Italian, German, French, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, Korean, Thai, Sinhalese, Tamil, and so on. I will make a box to show them!

昨年夏に、イタリアのコモからスリランカに旅行に見えたグラシアさんからメールが届きました。グラ シ アさんは、スリランカ旅行最終日にカフェジャパンに来てくださいました。日本食がお好きなようで、カフェジャパンの食事と雰囲気を楽しんで帰って下さいま した。私たちが何よりも嬉しかったのは、このわかりにくいカフェジャパンにわざわざ足を運んで下さったことです。（笑）
ありがとうございました！
コモは私もいつかは行ってみたいところです。コモで、レストランを開いたらいいわよ！と言って下さったので、行ってみたいですね～。

ところで、写真の植物の名前ご存知ですか？

Why? Ping-pong? 卓球台？

At Cafe Japan, now you can play Table tennis (Ping-Pong)! It is one of our hobbies and just leave it in the restaurant for the guests, too. One night, the birthday party was held at Cafe Japan. They enjoyed playing Table tennis and we were also happy to see it. And some other customers are interested in it, too! We leave it in the restaurant for a while. ;>

「何故？」と、お思いでしょうが、ただいま、カフェジャパンのライブラリーに卓球台を設置しております。ご自由にお使いください。
先 日夜、誕生日パーティをされたお客様（ティーンエイジャーたち）が卓球を初めて試され、楽しんでおられました。私たちも、お客様が楽しんでおられた様子を 見て、うれしくなりました！意外にも楽しんで下さるお客様が他にもいらっしゃいますので、しばらく、設置しておきます。;>




One day, a 4-year-old boy made a tower of rackets! We did not notice until the shop was closed. He spent a long time in the library and finally he did it. I tried the same though I knew it was difficult more than I have expected.

ある日、４歳の男の子が卓球台のある部屋に長い時間いました。店を閉めてから気付いたのですが、その男の子が卓球ラケットでタワーを作っていたのです。
見事！その後、私も同じことをやってみたのですが、それが案外難しい・・・。

Hi everyone! Just April has started today. We will close the shop from
11 April to 19 April for Sri Lanka New year. We will open the restaurant
until 10th lunch. We are sorry for causing inconvenience to valued customers

Ripen bitter gourd 熟れ過ぎた苦瓜

How vigorous bitter gourds are! There are a lot of bitter gourd in the garden but we can not catch up to eat them all! We left some and they became orange. It is an well ripen bitter gourd and no more for eating. When I have almost given it up to eat, my mother taught me we could eat the red colour fruit around the seeds. It is not very tasty but the vegetable lovers must like it. Natural sweetness and vegetable aroma are there. The ripen better gourds were waste even though we could enjoy the fruit.

苦瓜がたくさん育ったのですが、消費に追いつかず、熟れすぎて残ってしまいました。もったいないけど、捨ててしまうのかなと思っていたら、母が半分に割りました。
「中の赤くなっている種の周りは甘くて食べられるのよ。」
ちょっと見た目が気持ち悪かったのですが、食べてみると、本当に甘い。おいしくはないけど（笑）、自然な野菜の甘さが味わえて、もったいないので、食べちゃいました。
苦瓜って、生命力が強いんですね。どんどん大きくなって、実をたくさんつけます。
