Great singer Music artist

Last week a great singer of Sri Lanka passed away.   It was very sad mood in Sri Lanka about this sad news.
 My mother likes music a lot and since we moved in Sri Lanka she sometimes listens to music with the radio and she listens often to Shinhala music, too. 
When we have opened the restaurant in 2000, he visited our first restaurant.   We did not know about him but the staffs told us about him.   We knew that he was the famous singer in Sri Lanka.   We met him a few time though he was very kind and did not show who he was.
When we heard about the news, we were very sad also and remembered about it.  We send our deep sympathies and condolences to his family and Sri Lanka.
先週、スリランカの偉大な歌手がお亡くなりになられました。彼は、もともとバイオリニストとして活躍していましたが、歌手となり、映画音楽などの作曲も行いスリランカのシンハラ音楽をけん引する人物となりました。スリランカは一週間喪に服すということで、先週の土曜日は酒類肉類の販売も中止しました。
音楽好きの母は、スリランカに来てからラジオなどでスリランカの音楽も聞くようになりました。2000年のレストラン開店の後、ある日、レストランに彼がみえました。私達は彼が誰なのかわかりませんでしたが、スタッフが有名な歌手だと言うことを教えてくれました。数回しかおみかけしていませんが、彼はとても優しい人柄で偉ぶることもありませんでした。
彼の訃報を聞いて私達も大変さびしい気持ちになりました。心よりお悔やみ申し上げます。
